The 30th Ward encompasses parts of Irving Park, Hermosa, Portage Park, and Belmont Cragin and has been led by Ald. Ariel Reboyras since 2003. Reboyras, a close ally of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, has touted his record and recently secured a new elementary school in Belmont Cragin. Though Emanuel has bolstered Reboyras' campaign with donations, he has an uphill battle against Jessica Gutierrez, daughter of political powerhouse and former Congressman Luis Gutierrez.
