After running the 39th ward for 24 years, Ald. Margaret Laurino won’t be on the ballot this time around. The ward, which encompasses all or parts of Albany Park, North Park, Hollywood Park, Mayfair, Sauganash, Edgebrook, Old Edgebrook, Gladstone Park, Indian Woods and Forest Glen, has been in the Laurino family for decades.
Democratic ward committeeman and architect Robert Murphy faces Samantha Nugent, who has worked for the county's Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
Percentages are based on the available ballots tallied by the Chicago Board of Elections. Percentages listed do not indicate a winner until all ballots are counted.
